Lawmaker blames current crisis in National Assembly on absence of Budget office.

Absence of a Budget office in the National Assembly contributed to the current crisis threatening to tear the leadership and the entire House apart.

A member of the House of Representatives, Uzoma Nkem-Abonta of PDP Abia, said this in Abuja while adressing newsmen on the allegations and counter allegations between embattled former House Appropriation Committee chairman, Abdulmumin Jibrin and Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, along with three other principal officers.

Nkem-Abonta said a fully functional Budget Office staffed by professionals as consultants, would have provided the much-needed guidance in the budget process and establish a smooth line of communication between the Legislature and the Executive.
