Nigeria’s West African Boxing Union featherweight champion, Usman Waidi, has won the One million at stake for the Professional Boxing Championship which took place over the weekend at the Indoor Sports hall of the Nationsal Stadium, Surulere.
The capacity crowd at sports hall, cheered the pugilist fondly called Skoro, whose fight with the impressive David Ekpeyong was one of the highlights of the night as Waidi won through unanimous decision.
In the main bout of the night, Abolaji Rasheed-wildly cheered by his fans- emerged the national middleweight champion, after defeating Sunny Iyere through unanimous decision.
In the light welterweight category, Olaide Fijabi knocked out Tombraye Christmas in the first round.
Also in the same category, Rilwan Babatunde made light work of Shakiru Lateef.
The welterweight category saw the return to action of Stanley Eribo, who defeated Tele Adeleke through a knock- out in the fifth round knockout.
The super middleweight clash between Matthew Obinna and Samuel Igbokwewas declared a no-contest.
