Olympics: Nigeria defeat Japan

Despite crisis rocking the preparations of Nigeria’s Olympic Team ahead of the Rio Twenty- Sixteen Olympic Games, the team has recorded a Five – four win against Japan in a match played in the morning in the football event of the Games.
Oghenekaro Etebo, brilliant performance in the match paved the way for him to score four goals as the Nigeria’s Olympic team shrugged off jet lag to take three points off Japan in a opening match of the men’s football tournament of this year’s Olympics.

Italy –based Sadiq Umar put Nigeria in front after only five minutes off good work from Imoh Ezekiel, but the Japanese leveled within three minutes as Shinzo Koroki made no mistake from the penalty spot after Stanley Amuzie was judged to have fouled in the box.

Nigeria next match is against Sweden on Sunday night at the Amazonia Arena in Manaus.
