The Pakistan High Commissioner, retired Lieutenant.-General Agha Umer Farooq, has advised the Federal Government to develop cottage businesses in agriculture and the industrial sector, to revive the Nigerian economy.
Farooq made the remark at the celebration of Pakistan’s seventieth Independence Day anniversary in Lagos.
According to him, the economic strength of Pakistan lied in its small businesses, which he said, were mainly in agriculture and the industrial sector.
He said entrepreneurs in the small and medium-scale sector, such as artisans, were the backbone of the major industries, which he said, usually attracted large patronage.
The High Commissioner recalled that his country achieved its independence through various struggles, sacrifices and loss of lives.
