Nigeria sports minister, Solomon Dalung said the Ministry of Youth and Sports may clear the board of the sports federations following the failure of Team Nigeria at the Rio Olympics.
Dalung made this statement while assessing the performance of the country at the last concluded Rio Olympic Games and ways of improving the administration of sport in the country.
The sports minister, said the reviews and reforms planned would make the sports federations more accountable to the public and also equip them in better ways to prepare athletes for major international competitions.
Elections into the various boards are usually held after each Olympics Games but no date has been announced.
Apart from the football bronze, all other federations returned from the Rio Olympic Games in Brazil, empty-handed like as they did at London 2012 Olympic Games.
