Nigeria’s sensational table tennis player, Aruna Quadri, believes his current world rating will not put him under intense pressure as the Twenty- Sixteen International Table Tennis, ITTF, World Cup, begins on Saturday, in Saarbrucken, Germany.
Quadri, who will be making his third appearance at the tournament as the continent’s flagbearer, reached the quarter final at the Twenty- fourteen edition of the championship.
The ping- ponger, is expected to compete against top nineteen table tennis players across the globe including world’s number two and three, Xu Xin and Fan Zhendong of China’s and Germany’s Dimitrij Ovtcharov, who is the current European champion ranked sixth in the world.
President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Waheed Enitan Oshodi, advised the number one Africa table tenis player to be clam and focused in order to surpass his achievement in the competition , stressing that seventh- time Olympian, Segun Toriola would guide Quadri during the tournament.
The tournament’s draw will hold on Friday, Thirtieth of September, at Saar land Hall while the group matches will start on Saturday, First of October.
