Former Super Falcons forward, Stella Mbachu, has called for better preparations for the Nigeria’s Falcons and Falconets ahead of the African Women’s Cup, AWCON, of Nations and the Under twenty FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria’s Falconets will be featuring in the Under Twenty FIFA Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea while Super Falcons will be seeking to defend its AWCON title in Cameroon.
Mbachu, said the Nigeria Football Federation,NFF, had not given the Nigeria’s women’s teams the best preparations needed to succeed in their various competitions, adding that the national women’s teams are the squads representing the country in international tournaments.
She lambasted the NFF for giving adequate attention to the nation’s male national teams while preparing for international competitions, stressing that the Flamingoes did not prepare adequately for the FIFA Under Seventeen World Cup
The delegation of Nigeria’s Flamingoes, which departed the country on Monday has arrived Jordan in readiness for the FIFA Women’s Under Seventeen World Cupin Jordan.
The thirty- two member delegation comprises of twenty- one players, nine officials.on Tuesday.
The Nigerian delegation was received by the Head of Chancery, Nigerian Embassy, Abdulhamid Aminu, and Ernest Orogun, the Communications Officer, and members of the Local Organising Committee of the competition.
The players and officials later left for Le Royal Hotels and Resorts, Amman, where they are lodged.
