Nigeria’s tennis player, Clifford Enosoregbe, has failed to make it to the semi final of the Men’s Singles of the first leg of the ongoing sixteenth edition of Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship.
Enosoregbe, lost to Sasi Kumar Mukund from India in the quarter final match decided yesterday at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan by two set to one, six- one, three- six, six- two.
Though he could not make it to the semi final, yet the tennis player received loud ovation from tennis fans as they believed that he fought hard before bowing out of the first leg.
Similarly, a Nigerian tennis p;layer, Sylvester Emmanuel, also lost to Egyptian Karim-Mohamed Maamoun of Egypt, by two set to one, two- six, seven- five, one- six.
Meanwhile, the tournament’s number one seed, Enrique Lopez-Perez of Spain defeated Boy Westerhof of The Netherlandswo straight set of six- four, seven- five, in the quarter final match played yesterday.
In the women’s singles, top seed, Valetini Grammatikopoulou of Greece, Tadeja Majeric of Slovakia and wiss Conny Perrin, have qualified for the semi final.
