Today is the United Nations International Day for Eradication of Poverty.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal plans to end poverty in all its forms everywhere.
The organisation says it recognizes that poverty results not from the lack of one thing, but from many different interrelated factors that affect the lives of people living in poverty.
It urges government at all levels and individuals to go beyond seeing poverty as the lack of income in order to fully understand poverty in its multiple dimensions.
This year’s Theme is” Moving from humiliation and exclusion to participation: Ending poverty in all its forms”.
