FIFA, has appointed respected Gambian official, Bakary Papa Gassama as referee for next month’s twenty- eighteen FIFA World Cup qualifiers between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Algeria.
The match, which will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, will see Gassama being assisted by Jean-Claude Birumushahu, Marwa Range from Kenya and Maudo Jallow.
FIFA has also appointed Jean-Olivier Mbera from Gabon as referee assessor, while Anthony Baffoe from Ghana is the match commissioner just as Nicholas Chumba Musonye from Kenya is the match’s security officer.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles, will on Saturday, twelveth of november welcome the Fennecs of Algeria to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation,NFF, has won a protest it quietly launched following the release of the official match appointment, which set the kick –off time at 5.30pm.
Director of Competitions, Bola Oyeyode,said the federation was surprised when the kick-off time for the crucial match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Algeria was changed from five O” Clock to five- thirty pm.
Having informed FIFA about the change of kick-off time, FIFA, on Wednesday agreed that the match will start at five O” Clock in the evening.
