Teaming up with the federal government to defeat terrorism is imperative.
This is why the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode seeks the support of Nigerians and the international community, so that incidences of insecurity and terrorism will be controlled in the nation and the West African sub-region.
Ambode, spoke through the Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello at the opening ceremony of the National Sensitisation Workshop on the mplementation of the National Counter Terrorism Strategy NACTEST.
He said all hands must be on deck and stakeholders too must be on the same page and be ready to contribute to ensuring a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all and sundry.
Earlier in his remarks, National Security Adviser, Major-General Babagana Monguno said the workshop was a clarion call to action noting that the fight against the current insurgency in the country should not be left to government alone.
Monguno who spoke through Head of Countering Violent Extremism, Steve Agbana, said the sensitisation was not limited to states alone, but would also involve local government areas, organised private sector and the public.
The Head of Countering Violent Extremism, Steve Agbana said the two day event was being attended by security operatives, civil society organizations and non-governmental organisations from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo states.
