Senate threatens to halt plenary over inconclusive Rivers elections.


Senate has resolved to suspend plenary if Rivers State inconclusive elections are not concluded on or before December ten, twenty-sixteen.

The decision was taken following a motion moved by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, that the chamber was not properly constituted because all the states were not represented.

It therefore called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, to conduct the outstanding re-run elections in Rivers State on a date not later than Saturday, tenth of December, 2016 failure of which it will suspend its plenary sittings.
