Former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu, says Super Eagles will miss the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, in the Russia Twenty- eighteen FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Algeria,
The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper sustained a hip injury in a Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers last weekend, and will not be available for the match slated for On Saturday, twelve of this month at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Shorunmu, said it was unfortunate the Carl Ikeme, who recorded excellent performance against Chipolopolo of Zambia in the qualifying series, would not be available when Nigeria’s Super Eagles plays Algeria.
He advised the team’s technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, to feature defenders who were fit and capable to protect whoever the team’s technical crew decided to select to cap the goalpost.
