Ambode to make Lagos City Marathon best in the world.

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has assured the chairman, organisers and staff of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon of utmost support to make the twenty- seventeen edition one of the best in the world.
The governor, said his administration would provide world class facility, security as the state’s agencies would also be deployed to make the race chairman and his team to record success.

Ambode, who is keen to see the Lagos City Access Bank Marathon, which was ranked among the top one hundred marathons in the world, said his priority was to rate the race among the top ten in the world.

The race General Manager, Yusuf Ali, who on behalf of the race chairman, thanked the governor, assured that the team would work assiduously to ensure the race gets an International Athletics Association Federation, IAAF, label before the next edition.

Winners of the twenty- seventeen Lagos City Marathon would go home with a cash prize of fifty thousand dollars while second and third place winners will smile home with the sum of forty thousand dollars and thirty thousand dollars.

A total of fifty thousand runners are expected to take part in the second edition of Lagos City Access Bank Marathon Race.
