Nigeria’s Super Falcons defender Onome Ebi has undergone a successful surgery on her arm.
Ebi was injured in the arm during last weekend’s women’s AFCON final against hosts Cameroon in Yaounde.
The experienced Ebi played through the pain barrier for Nigeria to clinch a record eighth AWCON.
She underwent a corrective surgery in Abuja, but it is unclear whether the cost of the operation was borne by the player herself or the cash-strapped Nigeria Football Federation NFF.
Meanwhile, Falcons midfielder Ngozi Okobi also injured in the bruising final against Cameroon.
