The Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, has travelled to London even as the Super Falcons intensified their protest against the non-payment of their entitlements.
According to reports, Pinnick, who was at the Ahmadu Ahidjo Stadium when the Falcons defended the continental trophy on Saturday, appealed to the team after their arrival in the country on Sunday to show some understanding as the federation was not in a position to raise enough money to pay them, assuring them that they would be paid in full once the body receives money from the sports ministry.
However, the reports that Pinnick had travelled out of the country was said to have sparked angry reactions in the players’ camp.
Spokesman for the NFF Ademola Olajire confirmed yesterday that Pinnick had travelled to London.
According to him, the NFF boss went to London for a medical appointment.
