The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has assured Nigeria’s teeming Soccer fans that the crop of under-thirteen and fifteen football players selected from the just concluded NFF/Zenith Bank Under-thirteen and fifteen Super Eagles future stars will embark on a training tour of England.
Its president, Amaju Pinnick, who made the statement while speaking with our Sports Editor, Adeyinka Adebayo, said the federation would on Saturday, seventh of January signed a four year contractual agreement with one of the reputable football academies in England which would further expose the players to the basic rudiments of football.
While describing the competition as an assemblage of talented young football players , the NFF President, said some of the selected players who were exceptional could be offer a deal while others would continue with the programme which was designed to produce future Nigeria’s Super Eagles Stars.
According to Pinnick, the gesture would put to an end to over reliance on European football clubs, such as Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea FC among other to release Nigerian Football players for major international competitions.
He said it would lessen the financial burden on the NFF in the area of inviting Nigeria’s foreign based professional players for either CAF or FIFA cmpetitions, adding that the quality of players featuring in the championship was an indication that the nation was blessed with good football jugglers.
While thanking the sponsor for backing the Federation’s National Youth Development plan, NYDP, the NFF boss , said the discovered players would form the nucleus of Nigeria Super Eagles.
A total of thirty-five under-thirteen, thirty-five and Under-fifteen players would be selected
