Real Madrid beat Club America 2-0 in Club World Cup semifinals

European Champions Real Madrid has extended their unbeaten run to thirty-six games by beating Club America two goals to nill to reach the FIFA Club World Cup final.

French striker Karim Benzema gave the team the lead with a clipped finish after a Toni Kroos pass.

Four-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the win, to book a place in Sunday’s final against Kashima Antlers, with a goal that needed confirmation from the video assistant referee system.

The confirmation see Referee Enrique Caceres briefly asked for a video assistant consultation before allowing the goal to stand.

Meanwhile, this year’s Club World Cup is the first tournament to use video assistant referees in a pitch side monitor which available to referees to review decisions.
