A Nigerian prpofessional boxer, Stanley Eribo, has emerged the best boxer at the Nigeria’s professional Boxing Championship tagged GOtv Boxing Night which was held yesterday at the Sportshall, National Stadium, Lagos.
Eribo, who was earlier scheduled to fight Meshack Mwankemwa of Tanzania, defeated Isaac Sowah from Ghana through unanimous decision in an engaging twelve round African Boxing Union welterweight title fight.
For his feat, Eribo, who was adjudged as the tournament’s best boxer, smiled home with the cash prize of One point five million naira and the Mojisola Ogunsanya trophy.
In other bouts decided yesterday, Otto Joseph made it three wins out of three against Fatai Nurudeen following a knockout win, in the national lightweight challenge, .
Joseph stopped Nurudeen in the fourth round to confirm his superiority over the former national lightweight champion.
Similarly, Waidi Skoro also knocked out Dare Oyewole in round four of the national featherweight challenge, just as Kabiru Towolawi defeated Emmanuel Igwe through a technical knock-out in the national Light Heavyweight Challenge bout.
