Oshoala laments parental setback.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala believes she could have been playing at a higher level, if she had the right support from her parents.

Oshoala, who sponsors a youth football tourney for kids in Lagos, said parents needed to help their daughters combine football and education, adding that it was a major reason she organised the Under-eighteen tourney.

Meanwhile, the Arsenal Ladies forward has won the African Women’s Footballer of the Year in twenty-fourteen, African Women’s Youth Player of the Year in twenty-fourteen, African Women’s Championship Golden Ball in twenty-fourteen.

Also, Under-twenty Women’s World Cup Golden Boot and Golden Ball in twenty-fourteen, and BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year in twenty-fifteen in a short but glorious career that has seen her climb from the junior ranks to become one of the shining stars of the African game.
