Hull City sack manager Phelan.

The management of Hull City has sacked its manager, Mike Phelan after a row about January spending.

The former Manchester United assistant lasted just eighty-two days in his first job as manager, having been appointed in October after three months in caretaker charge.

But Phelan had become frustrated over the club’s refusal to commit to investment in his playing squad and a statement on Tuesday night confirmed they had parted company.
